Pre-cruise things to do in Tampa
Arriving a day early? Tampa's best pre-cruise stops are within a mile or two of the terminals.
Walk from the port
- The Florida Aquarium (701 Channelside Dr) — next to Terminal 2; also offers luggage storage with discounted admission (per Port Tampa Bay).
- Sparkman Wharf — waterfront container food hall and beer garden across from Terminal 3.
- Tampa Riverwalk — 2.6-mile waterfront path linking Channelside, downtown, museums and Armature Works.
- Water Street Tampa — shops and restaurants between the port and Amalie/Benchmark arena.
Short ride
- Ybor City — historic Cuban/Spanish quarter; take the TECO Line Streetcar from Channelside.
- Armature Works — food hall in a restored streetcar barn on the Riverwalk.
- Busch Gardens Tampa Bay — theme park ~20–30 min north.
- Clearwater & St. Pete beaches — 40–60 min west; great for a post-cruise day.
Catch a game
If your sail date is flagged on the departures table, the night before may be a Lightning or Bucs home game — a fun pre-cruise night if you plan around the traffic.
Hours, prices and streetcar schedules change — verify before you go.
